In Eastern Styria, you don’t have to miss out on tobogganing in the summer! The Koglhof summer toboggan run has been offering fast-paced fun amidst the wonderful Almenland countryside since 2003. No matter what age, the whole family can satisfy their need for speed on an over 1,000 m long run with eight steep curves and seven jumps. And it’s completely safe, of course! The double seat toboggans, so-called "twin bobs", are pulled 200 m up the slope on a towing track, before it’s time to race back down. The high level of safety does not mean that you have to compromise on fun. The 40 twin bobs have centrifugal brakes and slide onto a brake band at the end of the run. So you can clock up the top speed of 40 km/h all the way down without hesitation. Cutting-edge technology guarantees ultimate fun!
GenussCard holders enjoy three complimentary rides when visiting the Koglhof summer toboggan run. You receive the GenussCard free of charge when staying at one of more than 170 establishments (hotels, guest houses and private accommodations) across Eastern Styria, the Thermen- & Vulkanland Styria and in Southern & Western Styria from the first night of your stay.
In addition to fun on the toboggan run, the motor skills park has a climbing tower in the shape of a giant toboggan with plenty of tasks. The climbing tower also serves as a lookout post with a climbing wall and 14 m long tube slide. Developed by Linz sports scientist Dr. Roland Werthner for people who care about being active, the stations can be used by all ages. Across 11 stages - from "different walking" to the climbing tour - balance, coordination, orientation and sensorimotor control are improved at heights that do not require a safety harness. Unconsciously, the stabilising muscles are strengthened, old movement patterns are broken and rhythm is trained. The park is also available for schools and sports clubs to use for targeted balance and motion workshops, improving motor skills and movement patterns. A challenge for all generations.
Make the most of the opportunity to keep your body fit all year round. Plenty of additional attractions such as a ball run, Segway course, children’s world with trampoline, climbing net, sand play and a petting zoo will keep the kids busy all day.
Treat yourself to culinary delights at the rustic Rodelstub´n after an eventful day, located right next to the valley station. This family-run establishment combines conviviality with Styrian hospitality. The Koglhof summer toboggan run and its motor skills park are an unforgettable experience for the whole family, school classes and groups of any kind.
